There are actions, which can be called resistance, among individuals, groups, power and capital that constitute society. Where there is no resistance, transients or deficiencies occur. ‘Resistant’ is primarily meant to oppose and protest anything, but also to strongly endure any force. It is a strong state by itself. It becomes its own strength and also becomes tolerant and embodied by its characteristics. To confront strongly is to preserve itself completely in other words.
The purpose of all these acts is to keep and maintain the best condition that the person or group of people think. There are an extroverting trait that oppose to something and introverting trait that maintains the original. The characteristics and the result of ‘Resistance’ vary with the frame, the original nature of the subject, and the object.
Resistance can result in changes within a group or between different groups, or it can maintain internal state against external attacks. According to various behaviors defined by the term ‘Resistant’, society changed and history was recorded. Resistance would mean ‘resistance to change’ from the stand of conservatives, and it would mean ‘change’ itself from the perspective of liberal.
'Resistance' is the first reminder of the irregular resistance movement of the militia against fascism in European countries. The most appreciated of these is the French Resistance. But there is also the interpretation that it was resistance not only to Fascism but also to Vichy France. In fact, Germany sent a French extreme right militia named Milice, not a German regular army, to defend the resistance.
The 18th and 19th centuries of Korea were a time of conflict through the crisis of the Korean empire and Japanese rule. In the crisis situation, various forms of resistance occurred, and it was a resistance to Japan and a struggle to maintain the nation. The movements of the independence were done by individual and collective, and they varied in anarchists, nationalism, and communism. They had the same goal to resist Japan, but also resisted each other with the method and ideology.
Thus, the processes of protecting, counterattacking, maintaining and expanding are constantly present in history, philosophy, and religion. And there is always ‘resistance’ on that line. Resistance to it happens again. Labeled meanings in the dictionary are chained and make the events continue. There is still resistance in modern society. The resistance of the people to the government changes the regime and people are still fighting for the right of laborer, the right to education, and equality beyond gender and race. It is a process to maintain a human life even if it is not a struggle for any great ideology and cause. Resistance to the outside is in other words to preserve and protect the original. The work shows not the aggressive resistance but the other type of resistance that maintains and protects the own state from external trespassing. The ripe and tender materials represent the individual, enduring every moment and resisting each other in society in their lives, although they are not conspicuous.
